Pótkulcs Pörkölt Shows Food, Smoke And Hipsters Do Mix
The above marhapörkölt (beef stew) with sztrapacska (greasy noodles usually served up with sour cream and crunchy bacon bits) was only intended as something to prevent the Löwenbräu from sloshing about too much at super-agreeable pub/hang-out/music venue Pótkulcs. Amazingly, it turned out to be a masterclass in beef stewing that was as delicious as it was unexpected. An added sprinkling of hot paprika was enough to ensure this pörkölt wouldn't taste out of place in any Indian menu - and at Ft 1,290 with plenty of live music, smoke and groovy people thrown in for absolutely nothing, there can be no complaints about value for money.
