If you didn’t take our advice and go to last weekend’s Pálinka Festival in downtown Budapest, you missed a great time, at least from what we can remember. But if you did miss it, don’t despair, because this being Hungary, there’s always another big outdoor drinking party, such as this weekend’s Etyek Pincefesztivál (“Etyek Cellar Festival”). It is the fifth such ‘do to be held in the white-wine-growing hamlet just outside Budapest, and promises to be a fabulous time for both wine connoisseurs and everyday boozers. Check the festival’s excellent website for details, and note that there’s a discount on shuttle bus tickets for children, though unfortunately the kids have to pay the full whack for their drink coupons.
