Chew.hu is an English-language website devoted specifically to Hungarian food and wine. It generally publishes three items every weekday - one at each mealtime - for a total of 15 articles per week.

Unlike most second-language publications focusing on food and wine in Hungary, Chew is not a promotional product expressly designed to sell the products of its advertisers. Instead, it is an independent source of information and commentary about restaurants, shops, wines and other gastronomic topics of interest to people living in or visiting Hungary, or to people with a general interest in Hungary's culinary traditions and trends. While we sometimes feature advertisements from restaurants or companies mentioned in our stories, we never accept money for favorable reviews or mentions.

In addition to being honest, we aim to be entertaining, and try to avoid the routine format and style associated with traditional coverage of restaurants, wine and culinary life. Our items are generally short and creatively illustrated, and sometimes satirical.

Meanwhile, unlike most amateur food and wine blogs, Chew aims to aggressively cover news of interest to the culinary community, including new restaurants, stores and products, and other food and wine industry news and trends. Many items are filled with "insider" information that you won't find in newspapers and other general-interest publications.

Most of the items on Chew are written by the editorial team behind Caboodle.hu and Pestiside.hu, Hungary's leading English-language portal, and most popular "underground" website, both published by the All Hungary Media Group. However, Chew.hu welcomes submissions from anyone with an interest in the world of Hungarian food and wine.
